This course will enable landholders to undertake an objective assessment of the true financial and productive performance for a given period of their rural business.


Understanding Your Farm Business

This course enables participants to understand climate change influences on current and future business performance:

  • Document current business situation & components,
  • Analyse historical business performance,
  • Forecast future business performance and requirements,
  • Identify business and personal SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), and
  • Use SWOT as a tool for business and personal planning.


Preparing & Understanding Cashflow Projections – Single Enterprise

This course will enable participants to gain an understanding in preparing and forecasting cash flow projections. It involves an integration of forecasted climate change predictions coupled with each business’s core driving factors.

This entails learning where to find relevant information and applying it to cash flow forecasting budgets. These include livestock schedules, direct, capital & operating expenses, projected income and finance requirements. Detailed forecasting can be achieved that will allow participants to capture increased production through early planning.


Developing an Environmental Risk Management Plan (ERMP)

This course will enable participants to better manage their property through improved sustainable farm management practices, by identifying environmental risk, the land condition and current management practices of the property. This entails understanding, identifying and mitigating environmental risks, developing a risk management plan to monitor potential risks, and assessing the current land condition to achieve a more sustainable farm enterprise.
